Krucoff's Data Dump: Evil-Eye Vs. Cancer

kabbalah-livestrong—tiny.jpgHollywood's wrists are so tangled up in Kabbalah's red strings and Lance Armstrong's yellow rubber bands that we asked resident statistician Andrew Krucoff and graphics savant Chris Gage to try and make some sense of who's interested in repelling the evil-eye and who's opted for a sartorially savvy anti-cancer stance. The results of their project is after the jump. (Click to enlarge.)

Is it just one of those deliriously happy, cosmic coincidences that the only intersection in our Venn diagram (i.e., the only person where we found conclusive evidence of wearing both bracelets) is Defamer favorite Lindsay Lohan? Not really, it's unsurprising that Lohan's rocked both wrist-accessories; she's made her ability to straddle different Hollywood camps an early hallmark of her career.

Also notable in the chart: Madonna and Britney Spears, Kabbalah's two highest-profile devotees, have failed to make the Forbes Celebrity 100 list since 2002. Is the little red string bracelet throwing out the money-baby with the evil-eyed bathwater? It might be time for them to trade the cult-y string for the yellow rubber band of the mainstream, snapping it each time they pick up the Zohar and get the urge to open a Kabbalah school or eat a bag of Cheetos.
