The statement, sent by NBC, claims Harvey Weinstein has congratulated Jeff Zucker. So, it could be an April Fools' prank:

NBC Universal, The Weinstein Company and Lifetime have resolved their disputes. The Weinstein Company will pay NBCU for the right to move Project Runway to Lifetime. All of the parties are pleased with the outcome. Harvey Weinstein added, "I want to personally congratulate Jeff Zucker and NBCU on their success in the litigation and thank Jeff for resolving this in a professional manner. We look forward to working together on our ongoing projects."

So this means that the in-question sixth season will actually see the light of day on ladynet Lifetime, though no premiere date has been announced. But still ladies and their gays can breathe some sigh of relief, even if the show had been flailing in recent seasons.

Just to prove that this probably isn't some weird inside-industry April Fools' Day joke (or to trick us more!), Bravo (where the show used to air before the Weinsteins cruelly yanked it away), released info this morning about their new fashion design competition series, The Fashion Show. It's basically the same show, except Isaac Mizrahi and Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland are hosting, instead of Heidi and Tim.

<![CDATA[Quentin Tarantino Hops Aboard the Cloris Leachman Comeback Train!]]> The Weinstein Company today announced that Quentin Tarantino's WWII epic Inglorious Bastards has begun principal photography, and the accompanying press release was notable for two reasons. First, the official announcement spells the title as "INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS," aping the misspelling on the title page of the widely-leaked (and poorly spelled) script; does this mean that the film will goose-step into theaters bearing the same appellation? Still, there was one other tidbit tucked into the end of the film's cast roundup that we're shocked to find wasn't the subject of its very own, trumpet-blaring announcement:

The 26th and final name listed in the cast? None other than Dancing with the Stars comeback queen Cloris Leachman, who will hopefully revive the German accent that has served her so well in both Young Frankenstein and Broken Lizard's Beerfest. Sure, sure, we're also excited that Goodbye Lenin's Daniel Brühl has been confirmed (he's our bet to succeed Gael Garcia Bernal as the next hot foreign import) and that Mélanie Laurent has been announced as female lead Shoshanna, but let's face it: all other news pales in comparison to the Cloris. Quentin, we eagerly look forward to her paso doble/Batusi dance scene — don't let us down!

<![CDATA[Weinsteins Set New Standard for DVD Oblivion]]> With interests including Halston, A Small World and, well, the Weinstein Company, the post-Miramax Weinstein brothers have proven their uncanny ability to diversify, crash and burn as well as any moguls this side of Charles Keating. No reversal of fortune is complete, however, without a boutique DVD label and a few classics freshly extracted from Harvey Weinstein's TiVo:

The Miriam Collection, named after the brothers' mother, launched in late January with the release of one of the last great epics not previously available on DVD, Anthony Mann's El Cid.
Weinstein clearly relishes being able to play kingmaker and give deserving films the true DVD VIP treatment, a la the fabled Criterion Collection.

The Fall of the Roman Empire, for example, is fully loaded," Harvey Weinstein said. "It looks and sounds astonishing, and the bonus materials fully explore the sheer magnitude and grandeur of making a film of this scale in a time long before the advent of CGI."


The Weinsteins say they plan around 12-15 Miriam Collection releases per year, keeping right on pace with the rumored "Harvey Collection" of overpaid-for fest acquisitions (Dedication, Grace is Gone, Control, My Blueberry Nights) and misbegotten in-house efforts (Grindhouse, The Nanny Diaries, Breaking and Entering), all remastered in three-disc special editions for optimal shelf-sitting and maximum obscurity. Look for special bonus materials here as well, fully exploring the sheer magnitude and grandeur of mishandling films on this scale in a time long before the advent of a revolt by TWC's board of directors.
