<![CDATA[Sex Crimes Are Forever]]> Two Elisabeths get cast in movies, a playwright and a theater actress walk into a pitch meeting with HBO... Law & Order: Sex Police will continue on in its sexy way.

Two of our mousiest quality-TV stars, Rose Byrne of Damages and Elisabeth Moss of Mad Men, have joined the cast of the Jonah Hill/Russell Brand comedy Get Him to the Greek. They'll play a pop star and Hill's girlfriend, respectively. Also joining the cast is Sean "Puffy-P Diddy Daddy" Combs, who will stretch his range to play a record company executive. [Variety] And lucky they all are to get those jobs, as everyone else in Hollywood is struggling to find work. From big time movie directors down to lowly waiters. Yes, the recession has finally killed joy. [Variety]

Remember when Elisabeth Shue played herself as a nurse who had quit acting in Hamlet 2? Yeah. Well, now she's signed on to star in Piranha 3D, a remake of the glorious 80's screamer about a small town sheriff (Shue!) trying to protect her beloved lake from tiny nibbling deadly fishes. I seem to remember there being a summer camp in the o.g. But don't worry, the guy who made The Hills Have Eyes remake (the one with mutant rape) will helm. [Variety] Breathe another sigh of relief! About rape! NBC's "hey look at that horrorshow of warmed-over human depravity" series Law & Order: SVU will be back for another season in the fall. Chris Meloni and Marisol Hargaminanny or whatever haven't signed on yet, but Ice-T is actually now just considered part of the set, so he'll definitely be there. And probably the bald dude too. And B.D. Wong! BeeeeDeeee!! And Tammy Tunes. All your favorites. Plus the raping. Lots of raping. [Variety]

Oh, theater people headed to TV. Playwright (and sometime L&O and NYPD Blue scribe) Theresa Rebeck is developing a project for HBO called Women's Studies, a series about a feminist type lady person who teaches at a small Northeast liberal arts fag college for fags and commies. Julie White will star if the crazy thing ever gets off the ground. [THR] Kristen Bell, who studied theater at NYU, has signed on to star in You Again, a comedy about a young woman who finds out that her brother is marrying the girl who tormented her in high school. Which is actually sort of a cute if gimmicky idea. Huh. [THR]

<![CDATA[Hollywood PrivacyWatch: Sean Combs]]> 2/5PUFF DADDY going through the motions on an elliptical at Equinox West Hollywood. His bodyguard actually approached my friend and said, "Sean would like your number." She didn't give it to him, but she did confess that his I Am King commercial makes her laugh her ass off every time she sees it. Grown men riding jet skis in white tuxedos is totally her brand of humor. [Hollywood PrivacyWatch is written by and for Defamer readers; send your sightings to tips@defamer.com.]

<![CDATA[ CSI: Diddy. CBS announced today that Sean...]]> CSI: Diddy. CBS announced today that Sean Combs has agreed to a two-episode guest-starring stint on CSI: Miami, in which the versatile rapper/mogul/actor "will portray a prosecutor who doesn't get along with police Lt. Horatio Caine, played by David Caruso." Little else was disclosed about his appearance beyond a note that Diddy's episodes will air in mid-winter before his character is vanquished in short order in a dramatic, best-of-five, shades-shedding duel with Caruso. <![CDATA[Celebrities: More People Who Sarah Palin Will Have Fired]]> Now that the McCain/Palin ticket has usurped Barack Obama to become the official celebrity story of the day, actual celebrities are weighing in on Palin, and the reception is mixed. Following in the footsteps of Palin critics Lindsay Lohan and Albert Brooks, here's the latest roundup of stars going political:

· Heart's Nancy Wilson has taken umbrage at the use of their band's song "Barracuda" to introduce Palin at the RNC (Palin earned the nickname "Barracuda" during her high school basketball days). "I think it's completely unfair to be so misrepresented," she said to EW. "I feel completely fucked over."

· Diddy has much warmer feelings toward the vice presidential candidate, though they're expressed in equally blue terms. "You did your thing," he said on his Diddy Blog after watching Palin's RNC speech. "You gave a speech that pretty much shut me the fuck up."

· "The idea that people who voted for Hillary, who tend to be Democrats, would change and vote for McCain because of Sarah Palin seems to me bizarre," said actress Annette Bening while on promotional duties for The Women. "I find that an odd idea because of course Sarah Palin's politics are to the right of McCain's. She's incredibly conservative and I think it's fair to say she's more conservative than John McCain. So whether she will rally more conservative people to get out there and vote, I don't know. But most of the people I know that were interested in voting for Hillary are voting for Obama."

· Project Runway judge Nina Garcia thinks Palin could use a makeover. ""She has promise," Garcia told Us. "She just needs to lose those glasses. Get them lasered or something."

· Frequent VH1 talking head Simon Doonan disagreed, positing that you can take the glasses away from the moosehunter, but you can't take the moosehunter away from the glasses shop. “Oh, she is so LensCrafters I just don’t even know where to begin," he told New York. "People keep saying to me, ‘She’s Miss Congeniality.’ I’m seeing more LensCrafters."

<![CDATA[Hollywood Privacywatch: Ellen Pompeo, 'Staten Island Prostitute']]> PrivacyWatch celebrity sightings are submitted by our millions of Defamer operatives. We'd like to remind you that this feature is powered by you, so if you want to see more installments of PrivacyWatch, then all you've got to do is to send us your sightings. Submit yours to tips[AT]defamer.com (please put "sighting" or "PrivacyWatch" in the subject line so we don't lose them) and tell everyone about the time you saw Ellen Pompeo at the Century City Mall looking like (and we quote) "a Staten Island prostitute".

This week's installment also includes: Clint Eastwood, Jerry Seinfeld, Ryan Phillippe, Kirsten Dunst and Justin Long, Farrah Fawcett, James Woods, Dane Cook, John C. Reilly, Lauren Conrad, Ellen Pompeo, P. Diddy (twice in the same night!), Jared Leto, Kevin Federline, Sandra Oh, Seth Green, Balthazar Getty, Pete Wentz, Briam Baumgartner, Zachary Levi, Ciara, Adam "Seymour Butts" Glasser and more.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 21
· Sitting in a booth at the recently re-opened Fab's on Van Nuys Blvd in Sherman Oaks at 8pm, Mr. "Hey, Spike Lee, Shut Your Pie-Hole" himself, CLINT EASTWOOD, speaking in hushed tones while dining with Sinatra's favorite opening comic, Tom Dreesen. I couldn't hear if Clint said to the waiter, "Go ahead, make my Chicken Marsala." Even at 93 [Ed. Note: He's actually only 78], Clint looks like he could kick some serious butt.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 22
· It was celeb night on Friday 8/22 at the AMC theater at the Century City Mall. Spotted PETE WENTZ standing outside with friends. His hair is flat ironed to oblivion and he is short, almost alarmingly so. Kept his hoodie on the whole time. Jessica's pregnant sister was nowhere in sight.

Then, a few minutes later, ELLEN POMPEO (that's Meredith Grey to you) walked by hand-in-hand with her hubby. Super skinny and wearing gross, skin tight white jeans, white shirt with trashy sky high black heels. They were in a rush which made her look like she walks funny because she clearly couldn't handle those heels. We decided she was dressed like a Staten Island prostitute.

We decided to hold out a few more minutes on the hope we would spot an elusive A-lister. And before we knew it, PUFF DADDY walked by sans entourage! He is indeed puffy. Mr. Mogul needs to get back to running marathons for charity. He was wearing sunglasses. At 10:30pm. And he was texting while walking briskly. Who says men can't multi-task?

· Equinox West Hollywood. PUFF DADDY (again!) makes his entourage wait in the juice bar while he grabs a steam.

· JUSTIN LONG and KIRSTEN DUNST were spotted Friday night at the Dragonfly, checking out the show Point Break LIVE! She sat behind him w/ her girlfriends, but Justin kept turning around to talk to her & see her reaction to the craziness onstage.

·Bristol Farms, West Hollywood, 5:30PM (ish). Looking determined to get out and towing a tow-headed child: RYAN PHILLIPPE. Taller than I would have expected, and beefier (but by no means tall). I don't know if he's moved to the neighborhood but the shopping cart was brimming. In case he is, a word of advice: I know it's technically West Hollywood, but the look you should be going for should be more "Daddy out shopping for groceries with my kids on Beverly" and less "Out shopping for a Daddy to buy my groceries on Santa Monica".

SATURDAY, AUGUST 23
· He's not a household name, but with 33 film and 40 television credits, let's just say I was surprised to see SEAN WHALEN selling blenders at the Burbank Costco on Saturday, miked up, dressed in a white lab coat and white paper hat. He usually plays nerds, but now he's extolling the virtues of raw food smoothies. Ouch.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 24
· Sunday night at the Radiohead show. Saw SANDRA OH with several dudes scrambling to get to their seats. She looked flustered, yet excited. Also saw SETH GREEN in line between songs waiting for beers. He was sporting a trucker hat and has a big, shaggy red beard. He looks like he belongs under a bridge waiting for three billy goats gruff.

Lastly, also saw BALTHAZAR GETTY near the beer line between songs, wearing douchey skinny jeans and chomping on cigarettes. Dude looked like he was having way too much fun, like he'd just ditched his wife and kids for a hot chick who likes to bang while only wearing a sailor's hat. Oh, wait...

· As I approached the cool 'n' groovy Santa Monica/Fairfax Whole Foods, I saw two paps outside aiming their lenses into the store. Store security blocked their view. I heard someone say, "She's the one in orange," and then noticed LAUREN CONRAD in a cute orange summer dress, casual hair, grinding her own peanut butter near the bulk grains. No, she did not have an assistant to pour in the peanuts and press the button for her. When I left she was checking out, the paps were lining up, and the Whole Foods security guys, looking vaguely energized, were preparing to escort Ms. Conrad to her vehicle.

MONDAY, AUGUST 25
· Monday night, Radiohead at the Bowl. After briefly encountering JARED LETO (dressed a bit like Shia in Indiana Jones) on the concourse leading a small scuzzy posse around and claiming that he had extra seats, I was surprised to see him all alone in the pool circle up front where I was seated (second row, yo!). Jared apparently ditched his "boys" and tried a bum rush to get up front as the lights went down. Multiple security guards stopped him and he immediately went into "Don't you know who I am?" mode. At first it was high-larious, but then it became a bit pathetic. And then it became a lot pathetic. He just would not give up. It didn't matter. They hauled him away just before the band came out and killed it.

I'd like to believe that Radiohead hates Jared's stupid fucking band and the noise pollution he calls music as much as I and everyone else at the show does, and that they ordered security to remove him from their immediate vicinity, but more than likely Thom Yorke has never heard of 30 (Minutes? Miles? I refuse to google.) to Mars. To Thom, it was probably just another dumb asshole without a ticket getting the boot from the front. Which is exactly what it was.

·Saw JAMES WOODS on 8/25 on Burton Way near Raffles L'Ermitage Beverly Hills. He was on the phone and completely plugged into it. Looks pretty good for a man his age. No sign of his 20 year old girl anywhere.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 26
· Comedy Antichrist DANE COOK was at Crunch. His name was on the marquee at the Laugh Factory across the street, so I'm guessing it was some sort of pre- or post-show routine. If you imagined that he'd work out in a backwards baseball cap and muscle shirt, thereby confirming your image of him as a superannuated, doughy-faced, overgrown frat boy - you'd be correct.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27
· Two fun (separate) sightings. Saw Kevin (BRAIN BAUMGARTNER) from Scrantonicity (and, yes, The Office); and, Chuck (ZACHARY LEVI), from, well, Chuck at the Studio City Starbucks. Both taking meetings around the corner at the NBC/Universal building? Kevin wearing shorts, Chuck driving a gas-guzzling Chevy Tahoe. Bad choices, boys.

· Eyed R&B sensation/masturbation fantasy CIARA placing a to-go order at the El Pollo Loco on Sunset and Crescent Heights around 4:40pm. Body was insane.

· I was walking back to my office from Rick's Tavern yesterday around 8:35pm going South on Main St when, lo and behold, JERRY SEINFELD was walking the opposite direction. He was with a group of like 3 or 4 friends and looking casual but good. Hoodie and glasses and admiring the motor bikes parked on the street.

· Saw Seymore Butts (born ADAM GLASSER) in the Miracle Mile Marie Callender's today. No cameras, no nudity, no sex acts being performed. But seriously, I saw Seymore Butts!!!

FRIDAY, AUGUST 29
· Walking through the hallways of a building deep in the heart of Toluca Lake around 3:30pm is FARRAH FAWCETT. Farrah raised her head to look me in the eye with a a look that said "Yes I am Farrah Fawcett and don't talk to me" Farrah had heavy duty perfume situation going on that wafted in the hallway well after she left the building. Christie Brinkley is about the same age as her but Farrah looks like she has been through the ringer and had a rough, rough hard drinking, hard partying, heavy tanning life. Use sunscreen, kids. Use Sunscreen.

· Not sure if KEVIN FEDERLINE is a real "sighting" but we saw Father of The Year at Malibu Seafood on Friday. Did not look overly douche-y. Was with a few guys, both whom I recognized but neither that I could place.

· We saw JOHN C. REILLY out in Dublin's (as in, Ireland) posh south side last Friday. We couldn't remember his name right off. We called him "Not-Will-Ferrell". He didn't seem to mind.

<![CDATA[Kiefer Sutherland Enjoys Subs, Brunettes]]> PrivacyWatch celebrity sightings are submitted by our millions of Defamer operatives. We'd like to remind you that this feature is powered by you, so if you want to see more installments of PrivacyWatch, then all you've got to do is to send us your sightings. Submit yours to tips[AT]defamer.com (please put "sighting" or "PrivacyWatch" in the subject line so we don't lose them) and tell everyone about the time you saw a tired Kiefer Sutherland eating lunch with Gary Oldman and a couple of stunning brunettes. UPDATE (8/26/08): C'mon guys, we need you to be better than this! We just got this email from Gary Oldman's manager: "…About your item on Gary and Keifer, alas, Gary was not with Kiefer on Friday, Gary was out of the country on holiday with his family. Prior to that, Gary spent ten days in Barbados. Gary has not seen Kiefer for years and years. Whoever says they saw them together on Friday is, alas, mistaken!!"

This week's installment also includes: Katherine Heigl, Anthony Michael Hall, Bryan Singer, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Louie Anderson, Tatyana Ali, Gordon Ramsey, Catherine Keener, Bradley Cooper, Victor Garber and more!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 9
· Saw KATHERINE HEIGL at Cliff's Edge in Silverlake. My parents were in town and we wanted to take them someplace nice. We were sitting up in the outside covered area when Heigl and her entourage (which included her mother) were seated next to us. Alas, she decided that she didn't want to sit there (I heard her say something about not being able to smoke. Dead serious.), so they moved to a very secluded corner. Or, she may not have wanted to sit by us because when she came in, my sister nudged me and I totally turned around in my seat to look at who or what prompted the nudge ... perhaps she thought I was a super-fan who would lose my shit if she sat next to us. She would have been safe as I am not. Also, her voice is pretty annoying in person —way crackier than it is in movies.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13
· Saw ANTHONY MICHAEL HALL at Farmer's Market on Wednesday Aug 13th with Fiona Forbes (she's a Canadian tv host who no one in LA would reconize but i did!) He's still a little geeky.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 16
· Fiesta Cantina, The 'Ho: Fighting my way through the gay-os to secure one last 2-for-1 drink special, I spotted BRYAN SINGER jauntily hopping to the music as he entered. He looked fresh and young but not as fresh and young looking as the A&F wearing tyke he was with.
· JERRY O'CONNELL stopped by the 12 Shiny Nickels comedy show in Hollywood on Saturday night to see Carpoolers co-star TJ Miller perform. Seemed to have a delightful time.

MONDAY, AUGUST 18
· Around 11:30ish, saw PUFF DADDY trying to de-puff himself with some light cardio at Equinox West Hollywood. Take that, take that!
· LOUIE ANDERSON in front of Susina on Beverly.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 19
· Saw twice in one night: the beautiful TATYANA ALI at Gingergrass and Hyperion Tavern with some friends.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20
· Had two good sightings in one night along the douchey Sunset Strip. First, outside of Ketchup, chef GORDON RAMSEY and his family. He was laid back and non-shouty, his kids looked happy and content and not snobby and privileged (I always look at the kids to see if they look miserable!). Then, later that night, outside of BLD Craft we see CATHERINE KEENER in the valet area. I spot her as we walk up and just as we pass her I said in a dorky voice "Catherine Keener, I love you". It cracked up the valet but she looked utterly confused and surprised (but awesome).
· Mini-Alias nonreunion in the Arclight lobby: BRADLEY COOPER exited with hipster friends; one minute later, VICTOR GARBER entered.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 22
· KIEFER SUTHERLAND must like the sandwiches at Dan Subs. Because he was there in Woodland Hills, on Ventura Blvd, again. This time, he was with GARY OLDMAN a Gary Oldman lookalike. Kiefer did not look so good — he looked exhausted. But he seemed to be enjoying his sub, but not nearly as much as the two stunning brunettes that were with them.

<![CDATA[P. Diddy Urges Calm and Prayer as 'Bitchass' Levels Reach Record High]]> The revelations unfolding this summer over at Diddy Blog — your home for crystalline cultural commentary by P. Diddy himself — have enlightened us on subjects ranging from Barack Obama to black superheroism to Lil' Wayne's bulletproof success tips. But we aren't sure how Diddy will surpass the insight of his most recent entry, in which the mogul clues viewers in to an unforeseen crisis devastating everything in its path. We also can't determine to what degree we ourselves are responsible for the "bitchassness" and other Internet hating cited herein, but last we checked, our non-ashy lips and robust weed supply suggest Defamer is not responsible for any part of the epidemic — whatever the epidemic actually is. Anyway, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, so read on and watch your back. The bitchasses are coming.

<![CDATA[The Brazilian: Not Just For Women (Or Brazilians) Anymore]]> Let's say you're a dude and you're looking for a way to make your undercarriage feel "so fresh and so clean." Then do what Puff Daddy and Jay-Z are doing and get yourself a Brazilian wax. That's right, two of our most famous rap stars have admitted to—how can we put it delicately?— applying molten wax to their nuts and ass cracks and having the hair ripped out of the follicle. Ladies have been doing this forever, and it's about time men started sharing their pain.

As Diddy says, "I'll have a manicure and pedicure — and yes, I wax as well. Men owe it to women to make sure they are well-groomed. I wax my privates. I also wear my fragrance, Unforgivable Black." And Jay-Z simply states that "bald is beautiful." Beyonce and whoever Diddy is schtupping these days are so lucky!

But If emulating your favorite artists wasn't reason enough, rumor has it the male Brazilian also makes you look bigger down there. So what say you, ladies and gents? Does this new trend have legs or should it be ripped out at the root? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

<![CDATA[Blame France for the New Screenwriting Diddy]]> He can rap! He can act! He can produce (music AND plays)! He’s the dapperest of gentlemen ever to be accused of assault, bribery, shootings, sweatshop labor, a fatal stampede and making coats out of dogs! And now Diddy has a new occupation: screenwriter. According to the always reliable entertainment news service WENN, Diddy was “so inspired” by this year’s Cannes Film Festival that he decided to venture into feature writing. But wasn’t the festival like two days ago, you ask? Yes, yes it was. Apparently, Mr. Puffycombs wastes no time making his brand new dreams come true.

While no studio or production company affiliations have yet been announced, Diddy already knows what actress he wants: Sienna Miller or Angelina Jolie. Both are beautiful, captivating and emotive women. Oh, did we mention this is a comedy? Not to fear, though, since Diddy plans to land Eddie Murphy as his star. A cinch!

Before he gets too far, someone better tell Diddy that he can’t “sample” screenplays, or Murphy might find himself talking about pork belly futures and women from Queens all over again.

<![CDATA['LAT' Comes Correct About Their Bogus Tupac Story]]> tup.jpgAfter an independent investigation into yesterday's stunning report by The Smoking Gun that the LAT had managed to be duped by a federally incarcerated Turtle-like, who forged FBI documents implicated Sean "Puffy" Combs's entourage in the 1994 shooting of Tupac Shakur at the Quad Recording Studios in Times Square (five bullets, including one through his head and one through his scrotum), the paper has now officially issued on apology:

Reporter Chuck Philips and his supervisor, Deputy Managing Editor Marc Duvoisin, issued statements of apology Wednesday afternoon.
"In relying on documents that I now believe were fake, I failed to do my job," Philips said in a statement Wednesday. "I'm sorry."

In his statement, Duvoisin added: "We should not have let ourselves be fooled. That we were is as much my fault as Chuck's. I deeply regret that we let our readers down."

The humiliating gaffe is but another notch on the scoreboard for the LAT's chief rivalry in the ongoing East Coast/West Coast newspaper wars; members of the NY Times's thug posse are reportedly having copies of the apology mounted in every department, where it will hang alongside their framed Platinum "Most Dangerous Motherfucker Paper of Record" Pulitzer.

<![CDATA[Turtle Dupes The 'LAT']]> Whoo boy, LAT, this does not look good. According to The Smoking Gun, the alleged FBI documents the newspaper relied upon in their bombshell report accusing Sean "Diddy-Puffy-Puff Daddy-Sean John-P.Diddy" Combs's associates of having carried out the 1994 shooting of Tupac Shakur were forged. The culprit? Incarcerated con man named James Sabatino, a portly wigga with a vivid imagination and a desperate need to inject himself by any means necessary into the great hip-hop events of the latter 20th Century. From The Smoking Gun's report:

In fact, however, Sabatino was little more than a rap devotee, a wildly impulsive, overweight white kid from Florida whose own father once described him in a letter to a federal judge as "a disturbed young man who needed attention like a drug.
[A]n examination of the three documents revealed that the bodies of the respective "302s" were actually created on a typewriter...[but] agents ceased using typewriters about 30 years ago. [...]

Riddled with spelling and grammatical errors, the purported "302" documents vary sharply from standard FBI reports in terms of phraseology and use of certain acronyms. [...]

Most telling, though, are the obvious similarities...between the purported "302s" and certain court filings created by Sabatino while he has been incarcerated at Allenwood.

Well Diddy told us it wasn't true. LATimes.com now prominently features a story headlined, "Validity of Tupac documents probed," in which they cite TSG's investigation, and report that "Editor Russ Stanton said today he will launch an internal investigation into the authenticity of [the] documents." Sabatino, meanwhile, has managed to accomplish what he set out to do: become a supporting player in the Tupac mythos. That he had the wherewithal to dupe veteran investigative reporters using nothing more than an Allenwood Federal Correctional Complex-issue typewriter suggests to us that this is just the beginning of a beautiful career, with "Script Docta" Sabotino becoming Hollywood's go-to guy for gangsta-cred punch-ups.

<![CDATA[ Never one to miss an endorsement opportunity,...]]> Never one to miss an endorsement opportunity, Diddy has taken his partnership with Ciroc Liquor to a publicity-heightening new level. Citing not his fondness of earning Benjamins but rather his achy breaky heart as the reason behind this pragmatic endeavor, Diddy plans on launching a car service for celebrities who've had too much to drink at Opera and Les Deux and need a way home that doesn't involve cokepants or Vicodin swerves. More than anything else, we can't wait to see what the cars in question will be emblazoned with. We're envisioning that the rides will be pimped out in twead or pinstriped paint, with an oh-so-subtle 6x6 logo on the hoods stating "styled by Sean John." Which, if you think about it, would really flatter the drunken, passed out heads of Lindsay and Paris quite nicely. [Us]

<![CDATA[Good News: Diddy's at Sundance! Bad News: It's A (Gulp) Made-For-TV Movie]]> Just when we'd successfully erased Diddy's home videos of himself urinating from our scarred memory, Diddy TV has made a rousing re-entrance to The Internets. But this time he's serious, yo! Standing awkwardly against a filthy window, Diddy has filmed his own introduction to the trailer for A Raisin in the Sun, a flick with the dubious honor of being the very first made-for-TV movie premiering at Sundance.

As laughable as his faux-sincerity is during the intro (especially considering the fact that our turtlenecked thespian just received a court date for that whole assault fiasco last year), things turn from funny to oh-so-sad once we actually get the "gift" of seeing Sean Combs, The Actor at work in the trailer. If you're able to stomach his skillz long enough, don't miss his climactic rendering of the classic line, "You damn right I'm bitter! I'm a volcano!!" Who knew Pulitzer Prize-winning author Lorraine Hansberry had Tupac in mind as her antihero?

<![CDATA[Artist Formely Known As Sean Combs Made To Answer For His Aliases At 'The View']]>
P. Diddy plopped on the couch for a round of Earth's most inane kaffeeklatsch earlier today to promote - what, exactly? Mase's new mixtape? Leather hooded Sean John parkas? The concept of Puffy? As they tend to when an unmuzzled Sherri Shepherd participates in them, the chat meanders idiotically until Joy Behar goes to the timeless comedic wellspring of Mr. Daddy's many silly names.

She lists all 26 of them, Puffy chalks it up to "evolution," and an irate Sherri leaps from the coach and removes her earrings while shrieking, "Oh no you did NOT just use that word up on my show. They didn't just evolve; the name 'Puffy' is obviously the work of an intelligent designer!" (The theories will be taught side by side in Kansas public schools.)

In today's jam-packed episode: Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart; Steven Spielberg, Heather Locklear, Kobe Bryant, and Andy Garcia; Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli; Meg Ryan, Matthew Perry and Kevin Pollak; Dennis Hopper and Adrian Grenier; Melanie Griffith; Emmanuelle Chriqui; Seal and Heidi Klum; Janeane Garofalo; Sean "Puffy" Combs, Dennis Haysbert, Michael Rapaport, and Tom Arnold; Cheryl Tiegs; Andy Samberg, Maya Rudolph, and Rivers Cuomo; Dominic Monaghan; Rufus Sewell and Mary-Kate Olsen; Katherine Heigl, T.R. · Nov. 12 - Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford having lunch with mom at Panini Cafe in Newport Beach near the John Wayne airport. Ultra-casual dress and Calista has a severe case of bed head. Perhaps just got off of a flight?

· ridiculous week...

wednesday, 11/7, saw steven spielberg, heather locklear, kobe bryant, and andy garcia at the hannah montana concert (staples center) - yeah, they were all with their kids. later that night pretty sure i saw nora zehetner at the architecture in helsinki show at the troubador!

tuesday, 11/8, ran into jennie garth and peter facinelli at the 'kraft-a-palooza' (!!!) cheetah girls show at the house of blues.

· 11/10 Saturday at the Swell Season show at the Wiltern: A special section was roped off just for the celebs... looked more like a velvet rope cage in the middle of the floor that all the plebes had to walk around to get out, giving maximum exposure to matthew perry chatting up kevin pollak while meg ryan and her duck lips stared off into oblivion. we all commented that we wished she was still the "you've got mail" version of herself. rumor has it jenna fisher was also there but i didn't see her. weird crowd, amazing show.

· Nov 6 - 2 Studly Bohunks Swanking It Up at the AFI Fest at the Arclight....and that would be Dennis Hopper, pacing about like a jolly mad professor, and Adrian Grenier, tall as the dickens, just every bit as charming as you'd imagine ole Vinnie Chase to be. Both mirthful, both indicative of Greater Star Wattage to Come; but guess what? It never came.

· So I went to Cabo for a wedding this past weekend. On the flight down, Melanie Griffith was seated in first class acting and being treated as if she's turned in a great performance since Working Girl (1988 kids!) She looks like she's been dragged behind a horse one too many times.

In marked contrast was Emmanuelle Chriqui on the return flight. She stood in line like a normal person, smiled and chatted with fellow passengers, waited for her own bags and generally gave off a "really sweet person" vibe. I half expected her to jump on the Lot C bus to get her car!

· 11/4 - This one's a bit late. Seal and Heidi Klum stopping by my Starbucks in Beverly Hills most Sundays is old news, but this time they brought their two older kids. Cutest. Family. Ever. The little girl was very sociable saying hi to people, and the boy had to touch everything — he even tried to take off with an old man's dog. Cutest. Family. Ever.

· 11/9 - After catching a show at UCB Friday night, I caught Janeane Garofalo (who practically stole the show with her recounting of sex with a sweet but slow-witted fireman) exiting with Matthew 'Yeah, It's Retired Must See TV Me, Please Look Away' Perry and an unidentified yet somewhat cute nerd in tow.

· Odd batch of celebrity sightings for this East Coaster...

Monday, Nov. 5 - Cheryl Tiegs at Urth Cafe on Melrose
Tuesday, Nov. 6 - At Wolfgang Puck's CUT at the Reg Bev Wil - Dennis Haysbert, Sean "Puffy" Combs (and entourage of 20 or so sloppily dressed hangers-on), Michael Rapaport, Dog, the Bounty Hunter and his wife Beth, and Tom Arnold in jeans, a green shirt and cap.

Good times indeed!

· Sat Nov 10 - While sitting during the intermission at the Joanna Newsom concert, stewing in my own pseudo-hippy heaven, I got up to allow some people into my row. They were SNL's Andy Samberg and Maya Rudolph. He is an attractive hobbit; disappointed because he looks so tall on TV. She was beautiful and had a really cute sweater on and a few minutes later another guy joined them and my friend wondered when the Rivers Cuomo look was going to fade...but I think it might have actually been Rivers Cuomo.
It was an amazing show, by the way.

· Saturday 10 November, around 5ish - Dominic Monaghan at Amoeba, dressed like an adorable little Unabomer.

· While sitting in the nose bleed section last night at the Spoon/Feist concert (Nov. 12) in the Universal Gibson Theater, caught Rufus Sewell ambling his way up and down the aisle. Then some random guy, thanks again Adam, gave my friend and I two orchestra tickets he couldn't sell because we looked cool. We moved to the awesome new seats, close enough to see Feist's catbag! The only snag of the night was having to tell Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen (honestly, I don't know which one, I guess the really blonde one) to put out her cigarette. She complied for about 20 minutes then asked for permission to light another one. I relented only because I knew that the couples in front of me would object, which they did, vehemently. Despite being a smurf, she was, much to my surprise, normal body size (or maybe I've been in LA too long), though I suspect that illusion was created by boho chic layers.

· saw Katherine Heigl dining with an older woman (her mother?) at Figaro in Los Feliz Friday night (11/9). I would have yelled, "Hey, Katherine Hi-jel! It's i before e except after c," but I didn't want to cause a ruckus at my favorite restaurant. Another tip for Katherine: If you would prefer that civilians not notice you, don't eat outside facing the street on the busiest block in the neighborhood looking so gorgeous that you GLOW.

· I saw Katherine Heigl, T.R. Knight, Josh Kelley, and some fourth guy (whom I didn't recognize) at 7:30 am at the Rose Bowl swap meet. Heigl was wearing a baggy grey sweatshirt, baggy jeans, a baseball cap, and glasses (not sunglasses). She looked really skinny. The men looked pretty normal. Heigl was looking at some awful threadbare reddish sofa, but I walked off too soon to see if she bought it.

· Director John Waters yesterday (11/8/7) shortly after noon at the baggage carousel for AA #1 in from New York. He was reportedly talking non-stop on cell from the time the plane landed. He was wearing low-top sneakers, rather faded red pants and a plaid shirt. His chauffeur stood by as he paced back and forth looking for his luggage. Coincidence? The in-flight movie was "Hair Spray."

· 11-7—-
Last night after crossing the picket lines here at Disney after getting my pink slip, I went to the Rock-n-Roll Ralphs on Sunset and Eddie Izzard walked in, very serious and in his THE RICHES swag sweat shirt that he was spotted on the picket line wearing. He's so hot yet short in person. Love the man!!!

· Nov 10 Just saw Adam Scott from TELL ME YOU LOVE ME at the Apple Store at the Grove. He was pushing a stroller and had a huge grin on his face, so it's nice to know he doesn't share Palek's views on parenting. He's really adorable but I couldn't look at him without thinking "stunt ejaculation" and laughing, so I quickly turned the other way.

· Nov 12 - Saw Jamie Gertz at Sherman Oaks Castle hosting a kids birthday. I did not realize she is turning into Teri Hatcher! Overheard Jamie say, "I worked out this morning, so I can have something" as she eyed a pizza.

· AFI Fest, Arclight, Friday night, November 2. Was exiting the ladies room when I noticed a somewhat fish-faced, bespectacled older gentleman pass me in the hallway. I frantically wracked my brain, thinking "I know who that is..." when the ascot hit me! Peter Bogdanovich! Looking somewhat like an older, saggier version of Huckleberry Hound. He walked into the Q&A of our movie, "Margot at the Wedding" and took a seat. Why, I'm not sure.

· Nov 8 - bizarre one — fisher stevens hanging out by the brentwood country mart, having clearly just got out of yoga, sweating and swinging his mat around in a heated conversation.

· Thursday night (11/8) at La Scala, spotted telegenic mogul Peter Guber having dinner with a similarly-aged gentleman I couldn't identify (since his back was to me). Guber looked pretty relaxed, probably because that remake of The Birds he's producing doesn't require an actual script.

· The food-court at the century City mall was taken over by WGA Strikers today (Nov 9). Through the mayhem I had a sighting of Sarah Silverman's dungeons and dragons, heavy metal loving, gay neighbor from the "The Sarah Silverman Program", Brian Posehn. He was chowing down on a fuddrucker's burger (I'm guessing Jay Leno did not stop by with some snacks...) and chatting with some Writer Strikers. He was decked out in a red comic book t-shirt showing he is obviously down with the cause. I hope this strike ends soon so I don't have to wait in the Panda Express line for a 1/2 hour on my lunch break.

· spotted Gloria Allred in Von's Market, Sunset Blvd. and PCH last Saturday night 11/2. It was about 10:30 PM and even though she was the only customer in the store besides myself, she was wearing huge dark sunglasses as if trying not to be noticed. Every time I see her on television she seems to be looking for attention. She was grabbing herself a roasted chicken. YAWN!

<![CDATA[Golden Globes Hangover: Diddy Vs. CAA]]> combs-lourd.jpgGuests lists at industry parties are a tricky matter, and their convoluted politics become even more complex when one's throwing an exclusive post-awards show orgy, as hosts try to balance the ratio of talent to the behind-the-scenes types hoping to fellate them: invite too many famous faces and they might end up wandering the party looking vaguely lost, frustrated as seemingly every eager reveler is already engaged in the act of servicing someone else; invite too few, and guests will mob the talent, greedily clawing at the overattended VIPs for some celebrity-pampering time. Things become more tangled still when personal histories are involved, and the defiant uninvited show up, determined to test the superhuman power of fame over velvet rope and clipboard, as demonstrated by today's Page Six item about an alleged confrontation between Sean "Still Diddy This Month" Combs and the CAA gatekeepers trying to keep the boldface interloper out of their post-Globes party at the Sunset Tower:

When Diddy became "verbally abusive and started yelling at security," said one witness, hotel owner Jeff Klein came out and "kindly asked Puffy to leave." Combs shouted, "What are you going to do - call the police?" Klein said, "
Yes!" Combs shouted back, "Just try it - I'll spend the rest of my life hunting you down!" But he left soon after. A source claims Combs has been blacklisted from CAA parties since an incident years ago when he lost his temper with an assistant to CAA co-chief Bryan Lourd, who was hosting an Oscar party. "He showed up uninvited and threw a fit when he wasn't let in," a source said. "He wasn't invited then, either." Combs is now said to be banned from the Sunset Tower. A CAA rep said, "There is no ban on Puffy officially or unofficially. He just wasn't invited."

Going unreported is Diddy's less confrontational attempt to gain entrance to the event by offering a plump, juicy baby, freshly abducted from the Cedars Sinai nursery, to the hosts; while the infant's scent quickly wafted into the party and drew to the door of the venue a throng of CAA staffers reflexively salivating at the prospect of soon sinking cocktail toothpicks into its supple flesh, the bribe was summarily rejected, prompting the regrettable, angry words.

<![CDATA[Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Yellow Stream Of Consciousness: UPDATE]]>
Towleroad guided us to the above clip of Sean "Diddy" Combs on a trip to the men's room, from what we'll assume is his MTV reality show Making The Band. After our initial fears had subsided that we were about to be granted access to the auditory accompaniments of Diddy's a.m. dump ritual, we watched in amazement as he began to rhapsodize about the many splendors of a good leak before unleashing his stream on an unsuspecting urinal. Based on a decade of rhymed boasts, we'd assumed Diddy pissed gold records, but his lack of the painful grunts that would accompany the passing of large, gilded discs lead us to believe that his urine is not as special as we'd hoped.

UPDATE: Thanks to commentator kid icarus for pointing out that this clip is actually from Diddy's daily video blog on his Bad Boy Records page on YouTube.
