Sure. I know it's not easy to do your job. It's just about connecting with the reader, you know? And designing your writing to basically infiltrate the brain of the reader. When you keep your writing simpler, as you have been, your originality shines and it's really a delight. It's like having a few jewels on a necklace rather than a blinding sea of sequins. A Down syndrome diagnosis is not shit you find out in your first ultrasound. While there are a couple predictive measurements that can be done at the first ultrasound, few technicians are trained in them and even if the measurements are taken, they are only PREDICTIVE. Amniocentesis in the second trimester is the earliest diagnostic tool, usually at 15-18 weeks.

I think you should seriously consider a correction because an abortion at 7 weeks and an abortion at 18 weeks are two very, very, very, very, very, very different experiences.

I've been reading your stuff since Jezebel started. I disagree with you about 95% of the time, and the shit you write occasionally makes me apoplectic with rage. I've written angry comments about you. I can't count the number of times I said to myself "I'm going to quit reading Moe's posts, cause they're never worthwhile and her popularity is what determines her paycheck."

HOWEVER, I'm not writing this to bust your balls. I'm writing this because, amidst the confusion of the Jezebel->Radar->Gawker situation, I came to a realization:

You are a fucking fantastic blogger. You say what you want to say, how you want to say it, and you don't couch in any of the "I respect your right to hold that opinion.... but you're basically a stupid, anti-feminist, harlot" passive-aggressive bullshit that most of us commenters rely on. You're wickedly charismatic, and you make people care about you, your life, and what you think.

Most people will never be able to provoke the ire or adoration of hundreds of internet nobodies, because most people are boring. Most people are afraid to stand up for anything that's not the majority opinion, and if they do, they try to soften, weaken, and dilute their views to avoid offending anyone or hurting their feelings.
