The Butterscotch Stallion In Junket Hell: A Round-Up

If Owen Wilson was indeed high for last night's Daily Show appearance to promote You, Me, and Dupree, he had a better reason than "It's Thursday night and they put a complimentary bong in my dressing room." Namely, to dull the pain of having to endlessly answer the question, "Have you ever had any Duprees in your life?" while trapped in press junket hell. A round-up of canned answers follows:

· "Exhibit A: Wilson's younger brother, Luke, was a Dupree of sorts: 'He lived in my house, probably three years ago, for about a year, even though he had his own house a mile away,' Wilson says. Luke's contribution to the decor? A mounted animal head. 'It looked like a wild boar, but it was a javelina. It was a prop from The Royal Tenenbaums that, for whatever reason, he decided he had to have, and he had to put it on my wall.' Wilson says he grew attached to the animal, so much so that he was sad to see his brother move out, if only because the javelina 'kind of tied the room together.'" [Washington Post]
· "My brother Luke lived with me for a year — he was kind of my Dupree. And he didn't bring a moose head, but he did have a stuffed boar's head that he got from The Royal Tenenbaums. And I couldn't stand it. But the funny thing was, when he finally moved out, he took that with him and I kind of missed it. It really tied the room together." [LA Daily News]

"My brother Luke was a little bit of a Dupree for me. Yeah, he stayed with me for a year, even though he had his own house less than a mile away. I'm not kidding. I don't know why he was there. I guess because I had food in my refrigerator." [CBS News]
"My older brother [actor/director Andrew Wilson] moved in after his marriage broke up. He moved in with me two different times, and both times after he moved in, my girlfriend would move out. She couldn't deal with both of us together because when he would move in, then the pingpong table would get set up, and the motorcycle would get parked in the house — it's just not conducive to a relationship." [MTV.com]

Bonus "Owen was someone's Dupree" link!
"In fact, Owen himself has been known to pull a 'Dupree' himself — and poor WOODY HARRELSON and his family were the victims! 'There have been times where I've felt I was Dupree,' he explains, saying a few days turned into a few weeks: 'Four weeks later [Woody's] wife was like, 'Owen, you gonna catch that flight back to the mainland?'" [ETOnline]
