Is there anything even remotely newsworthy about Drew Barrymore being spotted at the Baja Fresh at the corner of Sunset and Fairfax, even by this site's lax standards? No, there is not. But if a reader takes the time to go phonecam paparazzi on someone of Barrymore's stature, we feel an obligation to post the picture. Our spy's report of the encounter follows after the jump, in which the utterly normal-seeming star's apparent kindness is repaid with a candid Motorola shot of her ass.
I will probably go to hell for this but here is a backwards shot of Drew Barrymore as she leaned against the counter at Baja Fresh on Sunset near Fairfax waiting for her order on Friday (I spied an unadorned Amy Adams there the week before – took me forever to recognize her familiar face – she had the smile of someone who just realized their career was taking off). Unlike most celebrities (like Amy Adams will be someday), Drew doesn’t seem affected in the least. Not nearly as affected as, say, the nobody blonde yakking in her Blackberry next to her. Drew wandered around a bit, didn’t care if people looked at her – she just looked right back (when you’ve been famous your entire life you find a way). She then propped herself up in this pose and had what appeared to be a meaningful conversation with the nicest lady who works there. Drew had her talking for a long while – probably questions about where she was from, what is she doing in LA. Drew was wearing no makeup, had creamy skin and was dressed down, per LA regulations. The food she got looked was doggie bag small, like a burrito or maybe two fish tacos. The yacking starlet kept standing too close to her, probably hoping something would rub off. You can’t see it from the picture but Drew’s pink cotton undies were peeking out of the top of her pants. On the way out to our (beater car) we saw Drew drive off with who appeared to Fabrizio Moretti in a big old jeep.
So there you have it. The goings on this side Laurel Canyon where the elite meet. It occurred to me that it was strange that Fabrizio made Drew go in and get the food. Why didn’t he go and save her a future listing on Defamer? He was probably getting coffee in the meantime, yeah, that’s it.
