The new era of peace and happiness ushered in by the arrival of the Miracle Baby was far more short-lived than we'd hoped, as today's news that quirky, taut-faced superproducer Brian Grazer has filed for legal separation from wife Gigi once again reminds us that love in Hollywood is a tragically fleeting thing. In the interest of not bringing down this special day with the sadness and recriminations that so often afflict the dissolution of high-profile relationships, we choose instead to commemorate the beginning of their romance, courtesy of Grazer's self-authored bio:

Gigi met her future husband by accident at Orlando-Orsini on Pico at a lunch with a Playboy executive. She had seen him earlier in a magazine entwined with a supermodel and so, upon meeting him, took great pleasure in deriding his taste in women. Her future husband seemed to like this. She had a first date with husband the following Friday- they both drank one-and-a- half margaritas and have been together ever since.

The news reports claim that the Grazers had a prenuptial agreement, which we hope doesn't include a gag order barring Gigi from writing another book. A post-marriage roman a clef—hell. why not go for full-blown memoir this time?— about life with Grazer could be an invaluable addition to the Hollywood war bride canon.
