Monday Morning Box Office: Bow Down Before Shia LaBeouf, Two-Time Box Office King

Dive right in to the weekend box office numbers, a refreshing break from the fresh hell represented by the beginning of yet another soul-crushing work week:

1. Disturbia—$13.460 million
If one weekend in first place earned burgeoning Hollywood superstar Shia LaBeouf the title of "bona fide box office force." then a second consecutive win should elevate him to "unstoppable movie-opening juggernaut," who's probably just a Monday morning phone call or two away from landing his first superhero franchise. Surely, Ed Norton can be pushed off The Hulk should Shia decide he really wants it—when's the last time Norton was the biggest star in the world for two straight weeks? [Ed.note—Have fact-checking make sure 'Death to Smoochy' didn't do three weeks in first before we make this claim.]

2. Fracture-$11.175 million
It's nice to see Ryan Gosling mixing it up a little by taking a break from the indie/Oscar-nominated/ sensitive-crackhead-schoolteacher stuff to cash an easy legal-thriller paycheck. Even Serious Actors have to pay the mortgage.

3. Blades of Glory—$7.808 million
Jon Heder's people are already working the phones, trying to see if Shia LaBeouf is looking to work with an up-and-coming sidekick in his next project.

4. Vacancy—$7.6 million
There have been worse ideas than snuff films involving Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale.

NA. The Trippers—$23, 200 (50 theaters, $464 per screen)
With his urination and head-shaving publicity stunts failing to draw any interest in his film, visionary director David Arquette plans to take his unorthodox promotions to the next level by lighting himself on fire and leaping from the top of the Hollywood sign, hoping that the ensuing wildfire might attract some local news crews.
