Bradley Cooper—poor, sweet, onetime Sexiest Man Alive Bradley Cooper—apparently does not think himself that handsome.
On the Today show talking up American Sniper, where Cooper plays prolific U.S. military gunman Chris Kyle, the actor assured Matt Lauer that his handsomeness has never prevented him from getting the roles he wants. Because Bradley Cooper does not think he's handsome.
"The first job I've ever got was on Alias, and I was not the...good-looking guy," he said. "I was the sidekick, best friend. And in Wedding Crashers, I was the jerk. So, no, I never sort of suffered that 'Oh, he's too handsome' [problem] ever."
Are you aware of what you looked like in Alias?
And Wedding Crashers?
You looked like...Bradley Cooper. Definitely someone who is handsome!
But those roles are more than a few years old. What about more recently? Like Silver Linings Playbook?
Hm. Definitely handsome there. What about American Hustle?
Unfortunate curl, but definitely better than what was flopping around atop Christian Bale's dome. Also: handsome!
But otherwise? Handsome. Bradley Cooper: Please have some hubris. Brag a little more about God's gift to you and your looks so we can all get on with our ugly days and ugly lives, thank you.
