Even working at internet speed, we can hardly keep up with the breakneck pace of developments in the Michael Jackson Trial of the Century. We were in the process of writing about the all-star celebrity roster of potential Jackson defense witnesses (Elizabeth Taylor, Quincy Jones, Jay Leno, Kobe Bryant, the ghost of Liberace, et al) when we saw this screaming from the Drudge Report (yes, him again):

Judge: 'I received word that Mr Jackson fell in on the way to court. He is in the emergency room in the Marian hospital'...

Jackson's lawyer Thomas Mesereau: 'He is very, very ill'...

JACKO IS DOWN! We repeat, JACKO IS DOWN!

The situation is so serious that Drudge has even taken down his "light in the moonwalking loafers" graphic. We sincerely hope that Jackson didn't lose a prosthetic nose in the hubbub. Those things are expensive.
