Variety reports that the mighty WB network, home to such knee-slapping fare as One Tree Hill and Everwood, is about to unleash an American Idol spoof on the shitty-singing-devouring public.

According to producer Mike Fleiss (who's gifted us with The Bachelor and the millionaireless Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire), Superstar USA will boot the talented and reward the musically retarded:

"These people believe they're the next pop superstar, even though they're horrible singers...It's not funny seeing bad singers doing karaoke. This is about people who are clearly delusional and watching them butcher song after song."

I'm sorry, I can't remember if I cut that text from the original pitch for American Idol or a Celine Dion press release.
